Welcome to Beauty Bliss Cosmetics! I'm Lynn Starner, and this is my company. This is the story of how we got where we are today.

Beauty Bliss Cosmetics was founded in November of 2004, but really began almost a year earlier.

I was watching late night infomercials and saw an ad for a popular brand of mineral makeup. Having never heard of such a product, I was very interested. I placed my order for the starter kit that very night. After I received it, I was pleased with the concept, but the actual makeup irritated my sensitive skin. The main selling point of this makeup was that it is "all natural", and I was so drawn in by that I decided to research it and see if I could figure out why something "natural" was affecting my skin so badly. After months of research and hundreds of dollars spent on other companies I finally got a really good understanding of mineral makeup concepts.

So I figured, "why can't I make my own?" And after many more hours of research and reading everything I could get my hands on, I found a raw ingredient supplier and placed a small order.

Thus began the journey to Beauty Bliss Cosmetics.

Let me tell you, while there is information on ingredients, there is no information on recipes. The first few batches were horribly unwearable. But after a few failed attempts, I got the hang of a basic foundation base that I was happy with. Then I learned all about colors, and made myself a match.

I was wearing my new foundation everywhere, and getting complimented on how great my skin looked. My best friend, who has the world's most sensitive skin, was impressed with the concept and the compliments I was getting, so she requested I make her a foundation. I did, and the word spread from there.

I already owned a skin care website, so when my friend approached me with the idea of turning my hobby into a business it seemed like it wouldn't be too hard. I made a simple foundation line, finishing powder, eyeshadows and a few blushes and opened my doors.

Now our line has grown into 16 foundations, specialty products like Mattifier, several finishing powders and over 100 eyeshadow and blush colors. We even have a completely mica free foundation line for those with mica allergies.

Over the years I've listened to my customers and tried to meet their needs, and that's what I plan to do in the future.

I'm a micro-business, and I'm usually doing it all. I hand mix colors, fill jars, fill orders and ship. I also answer all email correspondence personally.

My biggest belief is you should get complimented on your skin, not your makeup. Mineral makeup will let your natural radiance shine through and you won't have that masky-cakey look, like traditional foundations.
